1. How long does it take to train a dog?
Every dog learns at a different pace and every owner's goals are different, Factors including age, temperament, and consistency at home will affect progress and outcome. Our

programs are designed to give you the tools and support to see steady progress.
2. What’s the difference between private lessons and a board & train program?
Private lessons are hands-on sessions where you and your dog learn together. A board & train program allows our trainer to lay the foundation through daily, structured training, then transfer those skills back to you through follow-up lessons.
3. What commands will my dog learn?
In our core programs, dogs typically learn sit, down, stay, come, place, and leash manners and addressing specific behavioral concerns such as crate training or reactivity. Advanced training may include off-leash work, confidence building, specialized behavior training, and trick training.
4. Can you help with behavior problems like jumping, pulling, or reactivity?
Yes. Many of our clients come to us with these challenges. We’ll create a custom plan to address unwanted behaviors and replace them with positive, manageable alternatives.
5. What age should my puppy start training?
Training can begin once your puppy has completed their vaccine series including Rabies (typically between the ages of 12-16 weeks). Early training builds good habits, prevents problem behaviors, and helps puppies grow into well-mannered companions.
6. Do you offer AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Trick Dog testing?
Yes! We’re proud to offer AKC CGC and Trick Dog evaluations. These titles are a great way to showcase your dog’s training and accomplishments.
7. Where do lessons take place?
Private lessons are offered in-home, and in public environments (like parks) depending on your training goals and the dog's needs. Initial lessons are usually conducted at Waynesville Skate Park on Vance Road.
This park provides ample opportunities to see how your dog reacts to a variety of stimuli and helps us to assess their training needs. If you are in Buncombe or Jackson counties other arrangements can be made. You will be contacted by phone or text to set up a location after booking a session online. Board & train dogs live with us in a safe, home environment during their stay.
8. What do I need to bring for my dog’s board & train stay?
We ask that you bring your dog’s food, any medications, We provide everything else they’ll need for comfort and training.
9. What happens after training ends?
For board & train clients, we include follow-up lessons to ensure the skills transfer smoothly to you and your home environment. For private lesson clients, we provide homework and ongoing support.
10. Do you work with all breeds and sizes?
Absolutely. We welcome dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Our goal is to help every dog and owner build a stronger bond and enjoy life together.
